I'm going to be real, I'm looking for a pipe dream

Reach out to the “Better Housing Coalition” for affordable housing in RVA. I am currently living in Fredericksburg & I rent my place via the coalition (CVHC) They only require income 2x’s monthly rent and they often allow payments on the deposit. They really want to help lower income peeps. They were so kind to me when I was struggling to find affordable housing in 2021 (thx Covid). A central focus of both Richmond 300 and the Zoning Refresh has been affordable housing. Can you talk a little bit about engagement the City has done with organizations that are building affordable homes in the area (Better Housing Coalition, project:HOMES, Maggie Walker Community Land Trust, Lynx Ventures, etc)? What are the changes in the zoning code that they've identified as most important to constructing new, affordable homes?

Senior Community/Quiet Apartments?

I went through this with my.mom this year. Which affordable communities have you looked at? They seem to vary depending on the place. Either way, without knowing more I would start with Better Housing Coalition, we went through them and it only took 3 months to get off the waiting list for a place in Chester.

Look at Commonwealth Catholic Charities and then Better Housing Coalition could help with a more long term housing solution. Also, depending on her situation, the YWCA might be able to help.
