Anyone have experience with American Heritage or First National apts?

Has anyone had any experience with American Heritage apartments or First National apartments? My boyfriend and I are moving to Richmond by the end of the month and those are our two final contenders. We really like American Heritage, but the parking garage not connected to the building/about a block away, and that there’s a 7-11 under the building (we read reviews about people loitering by the entrance) make me a little nervous. Does anyone know anything about either building?
