The Richmond Dairy

The Richmond Dairy is a 113-unit apartment building at 201 West Marshall Street, in the Broad Street Arts District on the edge of Jackson Ward. It occupies a converted early-20th-century dairy whose facade carries three oversized milk-bottle towers, and the conversion kept the tall arched windows and high ceilings; some apartments are two-storey lofts and many have balconies. Homes run from 350 sq ft efficiencies to two-bedroom lofts of about 1,075 sq ft, with central heat and air, a kitchen with pantry and dishwasher, and hot water included in the rent. Shared space includes a clubroom with a pool table and kitchen, a 24-hour exercise room, on-site laundry, two elevators and a gated garage. It is managed by Colony Management and participates in the federal LIHTC program, so households must fall under published income limits to qualify, and no pets of any kind are accepted.
