Apartment hunting in RVA

I was looking into Scott’s Addition/The Museum District/The Fan, but all seem to be super pricey for little square footage. I have a 75lb labradoodle so needing a little extra space than what they’re offering and also spaces where I can take him out. A lot of areas in the city are surrounded by concrete. I found Manchester is more affordable for more square footage so that’s the area I’m considering most. The Jamestown is right across the bridge from my school is why I considered that. The Link

Apartment hunting in RVA

Hi all, Moving from out of state to Richmond for grad school and could use some advice on some areas/properties. Has anyone had any experience or knowledge about Phoenix on Foushee under Legend Properties? Is the area safe? Are dogs doable with the surrounding concrete? My other option is The Jamestown in Manchester just across the bridge. Is the Manchester area as bad as the reviews let on? Any and all feedback and insight would be super helpful! Thanks in advance!
