Redevelopment of townhouse complex near Mosby Court South could reach 12 stories

Keep an eye on the Shockoe affordable housing RFP as a case study (the site next to the Bakery apartments). Having spoken to several developers about that project, which only requires 20% affordable units with the rest market rate, the number of developers in town that can get the numbers to work for a high rise with that mix is extremely limited, if any at all.

Shockoe Bottom matches 2023-24 shootings in just two months

Have people moved into the Bakery building? That will definitely help.

18th and broad st

Oofff. Some parts are ok, maybe move closer to the bottom part of that circle. I considered The Bakery but I don’t want to catch a stray bullet into my living room window. I was walking into the leasing office and one homeless lady was screaming at another guy and following him down the street.

Anyone live at The Bakery Lofts off 17th St?

Hellooo peeps! I’m looking at possibly moving into The Bakery apartments off 17th near main st station and wanted to see if anyone here lives there or knows someone who does. How do you like it overall? I’m especially curious about the concrete accents inside the units. Do they make the space feel cold in the winter, or is it manageable with heating? Any pros or cons you’d share would be super helpful!
