Thoughts on Living in Shockoe Bottom

Hey folks, a friend of mine is moving back to Richmond after a decade in California. She is considering moving to 2001 East Apartments at 21st St. and East Broad. She is 35 and just wants a safe and reasonably quiet place to live. I know there’s lots of good things about that area, but do the cons outweigh the pros? Does she need to worry about noise and gunshots if she’s two blocks from murder McDonald’s? Is it safe for her to walk around after 9pm? Also, if you have rented at 2001 East Apar
