New to Richmond

Moved a handful of the "over 60" crowd to First Landing development in Varina! These are homes! As for apartments, the Winterfield and Chesterfield Village Senior Apartments. It seems that majority of this crowd is moving south to either Midlo or Chesterfield!

Rent in Richmond region surged during the pandemic. Two-bedroom apartments average $1,340 a month.

This is unbelievable, I had my first apartment when I was 19, at Chesterfield Village, behind the Wawa on Midlo, across from Boulder Springs. This was in late 1995. My rent was $505, all utilities included except electric. And it was a 2 bedroom, 1 bath unit, with cathedral ceilings. And a new dishwasher, and new washer/dryer included with no extra fees. Not a perfect neighborhood back then, or now, but good enough for me. I don't know how young people of today manage having their own place.

Opinions on these apartments

… be a little congested depending on your schedule because of the nearby schools, but I would say it’s a lot easier than living downtown. Idk about Enclave or Chesterfield Village.

Hey all, I’m moving to lovely RVA with a job start date of 10/11. I’ve got a list of places within our price range but are any of these absolutely terrible? My job is in Midlothian area.
